Spirit in Action
Social Justice Group
Who We Are:
Spirit in Action, the social justice group was formed to serve people in our community, across the country and throughout the world to live in dignity and peace. Among the issues addressed are homelessness, immigration, women's rights, equality for all, gun control, refugees, just to name a few. We join with other organizations working in these areas. Our mission: Connect with the community to insure love and equality to all that are in need of light.
We meet the last Sunday of each month at Swami's Restaurant in North Park at 9am. Contact: Lorraine Iverson at for questions.
North Park Lions Club
We enjoy an active service partnership with NP Lions as a benefit of previously sharing their space for Sunday gatherings. Some of the projects in the works are those that serve local schools and students from disadvantaged backgrounds, such as delivering fresh produce from the San Diego Food Bank to the schools for parents to pick up when they pick up their children as well as other needs. Lions Club International is a service membership organization of over 1.7 million members worldwide, with programs which include sight conservation, hearing and speech conservation, diabetes awareness, youth outreach, international relations, environmental issues and many others.

Global Heart Tithe
In accord with our intention to actively participate in the universal flow of abundance, Universal Spirit Center awards grants totaling 10% of all incoming donations. These grants, collectively known as our Global Heart Tithe, are all made in the name of our spiritual community.
Each month, 5% flows out to Centers for Spiritual Living, our supportive umbrella organization. Additionally, 5% will be awarded as grants to non-political organizations or individuals whose work aligns with our Center’s purpose and mission of creating a world that works for everyone.
Anyone may apply for a Global Heart Tithe grant. All applications will be reviewed by Stewardship Core at its monthly meetings. Grants are typically made only once to a particular project or organization.
